BJD tag & Happy Midsummer!

Apparently this is from Instagram, but I stole this from the fairchildren. x)

1) You can find the profiles here: http://yarnstack.blogspot.fi/p/my-dolls.html
At the moment I have 6 resin BJD and a pile of other dolls.

2) Uhhh it has been a bit quiet here lately with resin dolls. Newest one is Nagisa, Unoa Lusis. Despite the fack that she is sharing a body with Sist. xD But anyway I got Nagisa's faceplate last november.

3) Nanji, Fairyland Pukifee Zio. I got her at spring 2011 or something like that.
Thought she is not my first doll, that was Dollzone Kay, who I got 2008, but I sold him few years ago.

4) I have many that I like, but if I have to choose only one I'd say Fairyland. I have only few face sculpts that I like from them, but ohhh the bodies <3 I love how well the dolls move and pose, and they also look very pretty!
I used to have Minifee Shushu, but I sold it. Stupid me, now I miss that! :D Luckily I have my two Pukifees.

5) Least favorite company huh? Hard to say, I tend to just ignore all companies that don't have dolls to my liking. :D Maybe one of those with really weird designs and stuff. Or too realistic! That's a bit creepy too.

6) My kind of a grail was Unoa Lusis. I loved the sculpt from the very beginning of my doll hobby, but I always thought that Unoa's are very expensive and hard to get. I kind of never didn't even try to really get one.
But long story short, I got myself Unoa Sist and some time after that Unoa Lusis faceplate, both second hand. Maybe it would be cool to get new one later when I have that kind of extra money.

7) Weird question. Depends! I like to look at pretty dolls overall. But one part that I check in every doll is usually the hands. Pretty hands are the best thing ever! Like Fairyland Minifee hands! They look very delicate. Also Unoa hands are ok. And recently I found Classy doll, from images their hands look very pretty, but I haven't seen one irl. Actually I'm bit tempted to buy one, the body looks very pretty too... :S

8) Usually everything starts from the doll sculpt for me. If I find a doll that I like, I start to create a look and character for it. If I like what I get as a result of my imaginary work, I might end up buying the doll, or at least putting it on wanted-list. x) AS for clothes and such, the inspiration might come from anywhere. Anime, magazines, pictures from internet, pattern from a book or online, or something like that! Sometimes I even have my own imagination. x')

9) Mostly I'm in to knitting and crocheting for dolls, but I also like sewing. Or just anything where I can make something with my hands.
I do like photography too, but I have no real equipment or talent to use any camera. x)
Oooooor in the end I just love to look at pretty dolls. <3 Meetups are also great, you get to know more people with the same interests and get to see many different dolls.

10) When there is a community, there is always some kind of drama going on. Lately I have been less active in the communities, so gladly I don't know what's the current drama topic. :D
My least favorite drama topic is on-/off-topic dolls battle, or recast dolls.

That's about the tag thing, thank you for reading! And since you read it, I'll tag YOU!

Now some Dollfie Dream talk!
Last week I was visiting Joensuu for Iaido seminar. Since I was in Joensuu, Pihlajakoto invited me for a coffee and I also got to visit her house.
That was super fun, thank you so much for letting me to see all your dollies!

I have only one DD, and thus the DDII body is the only one I have any experience from. Now I got to see different bodies, and ohhh the DDIII body moves so much better than Chi's. x) Seeing the options got me to wonder should I upgrade Chinami's body to never one. That would leave me with an extra type II body, and I have doubts that no-one would be interested to buy it. Also one option would be to buy a set of type III arms. That would improve Chi's posing a bit, since now she can't even touch her face. As seen in the pic above... :D But I found out that even ordering only the arm parts that would come to something like 70€, which feels a bit costly.
I'll have to think about this. :S Or just forget about it.

Also!
Pihlajakoto had a Mirai Smartdoll! I have kind of wanted one since I found out about them from  Danny Choo's blog. Mirai's face is really cute, and the body is very pretty and looks like it works well.
Maybe the only thing why I haven't bought it so far is that Mirai is a character doll, and I haven't had one before. I tend to make my own characters for dolls, aaand I don't like the idea to "ruin" a ready made character. That's why I don't have any anime dolls either. Of course I could customize Mirai, but I do like her as she is! :D

But anyways, after seeing Pihlaja's Mirai I'm not so eager to get one anymore. x) The body was a bit funny, it was quite hard material otherwise, but the breast part was weirdly soft. Not like only the boobie part, but the whole piece to the neck. :S I wasn't quite fond of the combination, and it didn't feel so good as DD. Also the hardness of the one-piece bottom part of the body takes away some of the poseability that the inner frame would allow. But in the other hand, there is no joint in the hip area which looks good. But for posing, it doesn't work. But the looks...! I dunno lol. And my dolls normally wear clothes, they don't run around in underwear or bikini. (Maybe if I had Mirai, she could wear only bra and panties just because the body looks good!)
But still I like Mirai design wise, maybe someday I'll get one when I'm rich.Or the robotics version if it ever comes for sale. xD

Happy Midsummer to everyone!
It's rainy here, so despite Chinami's new set of summer clothes, we are staying inside.

LDoll 2012 aftermath

LDoll festival was held in Lyon last weekend. As you may know If you saw my last post I participated there as a private seller, sharing a booth with Khrestel aka. Hooked. I had my side of the table named Yarnstack, which is also a name of this blog and my Etsy. Yay!

LDoll 2012
Picture of my side of the table.

Derpster promoting my crochet hats.

As you can see I didn't have too much stuff to sell, but I was still quite pleased with what I had managed to prepare in a short notice - It wasn't too many months before LDoll when Khrestel asked me if I'd like to share a table with her. I was very happy about the option anyway!

I noticed that I should have made more and different hats in different sizes. Now most of my hats were for tinies and many people asked for bigger ones, or different color or shape. :D
But now I know what to do for next year!
Pukipuki size wasn't the best go with the knit wear either. I might be alone with this love for tiny dolls. x) Next time I know to make more for bigger dolls too.
Those funny animal hats were good product, I sold 10 of my 14 hats on the first day. Sunday was more quiet in all the ways, but I was still only left with two hats to bring back home. I have more leftover Pukipuki dresses and pullovers thought. I'll be listing them to my Etsy soon. :)

All in all the LDoll festival was really nice experience again. I bought a bunch of clothes from different sellers to my dollies. Also I'm very happy that I found a pretty pair of Enchanted dolls eyes for Misa. She got two new wigs too from Jpop Dolls, what a spoiled dolly! @__@ Not to mention about the clothes she got.

Misa
Misa with her new ED eyes, and a pretty shirt made by Uninu!
Crochet hat is made by me. :3
I bought one doll too. Or it might not be counted as a real BJD, but who cares!
Sir Derpington is the coolest fish ever!

Sir Derpington I
Presenting you; Sir Derpington!
I passed the booth once only looking at these creatures and thought "Nooo I don't need one of those, I have Derpster already...". But I just couldn't get over these creatures and I had to go back to get one. :D This is an artist made doll, the creator is called pandalilou. Or Tendres Chimeres as their blog is called. Pity that their blog is in French! ;__; Luckily she has also dA.
I'm so happy with my little fellow. :3 Illves already agreed that she can do the painting job for Sir Derpington. I can't wait to have him finished! I think I want him to be turquoise or something with some cool pattern. And then black top hat and little monocle.
I have to go shopping for fishbowl for him and decorate it in appropriate way for a Sir fish. u__u

LDoll gave me also a final push towards my small dolly dream, Blue Fairy tiny!
Particularly a Pocket Fairy Taro girl with sugar body. I ordered her yesterday. :3
I bought a set of clothes, two wigs and two pairs of shoes in Pocket Fairy sugar size from LDoll, so of course I need the dolly too. u__u
There  was Taro for display at Blue Fairy's booth at LDoll, but sadly they didn't have any for sell there. Only baked cuties, but I prefer NS so I had to order my little one afterwards. :)

I have been secretly adoring cute sugar sized girlies after I have seen them in pics and IRL too. I'm quite sure that Elina's and Jesmo's little cuties have had some influence on me. u__u Not to mention Xaya's army of Blue Fairies in particular. Maybe someday I'll get a bigger Blue Fairy too. :)
Sarang would be cute.

Soo anyways! Enough mumbling.
I took more pics too, you can see them at my Flickr

Thank you everyone for being so awesome! <3
I have already started planning for next years LDoll and what kind of knit and crochet stuff I should make this time. Nothing has been decided 100% yet, but at least I'm totally going there and if everything goes ok I'm participating as a private seller again with some fellow Finns!

Do I really have to wait for a whole year before next LDoll?!? DD:

LDoll is getting closer...

And I'm so behind with my plans! D:
I won't have too much things to sell there. Buut I'll be happy with what I can finish on time and won't be upset about it. (At least not too much.) I knew that this will be a busy period for me anyway, but I decided to attend LDoll as a seller since I was asked. I'm sharing a booth with Khrestel, so it's not so bad if I don't have so much stuff to sell. :)

I'll share with you some preparation things I have done!

Best thing first!

I got my minicards from MOO!

Backside!

I like these so much. These I ordered from a promotion that MOO had with Etsy, thus the Etsy logo. :)
I also ordered another set with different pics, but that one has not arrived yet. It should arrive before 25th of September according to the company, so they will still make it before LDoll.
I thought for a long time what text to put in the card. And if I should insert my real name or not. Well, there it is now. @__@

At least I can hand out cards if I don't have anything to sell? 8D

Displays!
Here is some displays that I got online. They are actually jewellery displays, but I think they will work quite ok for my needs. :) I also bought huge amount of barbie cloth hangers! x) They work well for my tiny clothes.

I think I will use that round display for Pullip/Dal dresses, and the other one for tiny BJD clothing. Pukipuki things to the upper row and Pukifee to down. :) Thought I only have two Pukifee dresses so far. :S I got a bit carried away with the Pukipuki stuf. :D
Gasp! Hurry, hurry! Knit! Knit!

What comes to displaying hats... I have no idea yet! :D Maybe I'll just put them to the table without anything special. I have been making really simple hats for tiny dollies, so I can also have some cheaper small items to sell. But I like these tiny hats, they are so cute with staring bead eyes. :) I hope that people will like them too. @__@
I'm sorry that all work samples in the pic are Pukipuki sized, I took the pic only to show the displays and didn't think that I could have shown more of my works too. :S

I have still so much to do, and so many knit pieces to finish. I run out of snap closures, so now I have maaany dresses waiting for snaps. :D And I hate sewing on snaps! u__u'

Christmas meetup

I might be a bit late with this, but last weekend was  held a Christmas themed BJD meetup at Helsinki.
Of course, since we are talking about me, I forgot my camera home. 8D
It was a pity, because Christmas meetups are always so pretty and many dolls have Christmas themed clothes, and of course there is proper props too. There was also lots of people, and it was very nice to see dolly people again. :3

Even thought I forgot my real camera I had my phone camera, so I took few pics with it. :)

We have to start with this. Because this is pure awesomeness.
The doll is owned by Sargonnas, and I think it is named Morbus Bonesniffer.
Doll Chateau Faramita is the mold. I kind of liked the companys version too,
but Sargonnas has made hers so pwetty. 8D

LDoll post~

It has been 4 days since I came back to Finland from France. LDoll was held at last weekend, but we were in Lyon from Friday to Tuesday with two of my friends, Glorry and Karkki. :) There was also a bunch of other Finns attending the event, few of them even had an sales table there. It was my first trip to anywhere by plane, and I have to say that my first trip couldn't have been better. 8)

We saw, of course, lots and lots of dolls and dolly people! We didn't talk with the local people too much because of the language barrier (I don't speak French ;__;), but in the end it didn't matter so much. There was so much to see, and more importantly, to buy. 8D And Lyon was great city too, we spent one hole day exploring around, and at the evening we ate somewhere or visited shopping mall etc.

!If you see a picture of yourself, your doll or something that you would like to see removed, just contact me!

LDoll was held in Lyon, at Double Mixte. 8)
Where is everyone? D: Lining inside! 8D

Jaco! And storage problem solved.

Day of joy, Jaco got some suitable pants today!

They look pretty coool and fit perfectly. :3

Ya... He has been sitting on a shelf too long time...

Jaco needs more clothes. Poor boy has only those that are on him at the moment. And only one pair of shoes, so more of those too. I'm also starting to consider if I should someday update Jaco into a double jointed body, because it would make posing much better. Not it is very limited with that old old Dream of Doll body. But I'm afraid that the new DoD resin color won't match to the old head at all. 8( Well, I have to think about it anyway.

I have been having problems of keeping all my dolly stuff organized. Mostly it is my own fault because I'm so messy person. I had all the clothes and stuff held in the boxes of which my dolls had arrived in, which was maybe good way to store, but everything was so messed up inside them... I saw LadyNancy's tip at Finnish Pullip forums about how she uses minigrip bags for storing dolly clothes. (Like it wouldn't have came in my thought before... I'm so simple person.) Well, I thought that: great, maybe I'll try it too! 8D But it didn't quite remove the fact that I still had to dig around the boxes to find the correct bag. But helped a lot anyway.

Last week I went to Ikea, and bought a cool storage system. That was meant for shoes, but who cares! 8D I bought four boxes separately. Let's see my current storaging system for doll clothes and stuff! :3

The thing is hanging in my wardrobe, hence no pics that would show more...
I labelled the boxes by what is inside them. Like Pullip stuff, petite girls, Matoko, tiny stuff...8D

Everything inside the boxes is stored in minigrip bags.
Also labeled because it was fun. 8D

The top part is without boxes, but I had to make labels anyway...
Got addicted to labels, shouldn't have even started that.

Now I hope that my dolly stuffs will stay in better order and in good shape. Without cat hairs also! 8D
While I was at it I went through all the doll clothes I threw away some very old crappy ones and things that none of my dolls actually hadn't used ever. Mostly those very some of my own early sewing tryouts. :D Now I also know better what my dolls have and what they are missing. And the fact that Matoko has the biggest wardrobe... He was the only one who got a box only for himself. In the other hand Jaco only has that one set of clothes, and also the MSD girls could use some real dresses and pretty shoes. And my petite girls are also missing shoes. Jamila has none, and Shia only too big ones. 8(

Dal Coco! And pics of Matoko.

I ordered Dal Coco this morning. I found it from eBay. I dunno is that rare to find or not, but at least I haven't seen too many around. Pullistyle haven't had them available for all the time I have been following that site. I don't wonder why, the stock outfit of Coco's is so weird... But I hope that the girl under there is cute anyway. :3 Also I placed an order for Obitsu body for the Dal. I'm not too fond of the bodies of Pullip dolls, so I have been planning to go with Obitsu from the beginning. SBH bodies are quite pretty, and pose better according to what I have read. Maybe I can take comparison pics when I have the doll and the body.

The Obitsu body I got was with medium bust instead of the small bust that I originally planned. There was no small busts in white skin when I was browsing eBay, and no luck from Mollamania (Finnish dealer) either. :( So I ended up with M bust. I hope it is not too bad. I ordered it from Mollamania, and also included blue eyechips to my order. They are for the Coco too, I'm not too fond of the stock chips of Coco's. I just hope that I don't ruin it's eyes when trying to change the chips. :O

And some Matoko pics from our summer cottage trip, as promised in my previous entry. :3

Matoko! Setting out for a trip!
With his favorite froggy hat and weird orange bag...
Trip to the lake!

Shoes alone on the rock! Where did Matoko go?

He seems to be testing the water. Maybe he is going to swim?
Thank you for visiting our blog!

I'll tell you a secret... After that last pic, Matoko fell with his face down to the water... All his clothes got wet. :F I knew that would happen, it's always like that. With no exceptions when I have been taking pics with water, the doll has gotten more wet than planned!

Crochet hats :3

Matoko's new froggy hat!

I have been on a good crocheting mood lately. :3 I have wanted to make a proper frog hat for Matoko for a while now, and finally I got it done. 8) I'd like to go for a dinosaur hat too, but I don't have enough of that green yarn anymore. It was Novita's Rose mohair and I only had one ball of it. Colors of Rose mohair seem to be seasonal, since I can't find that same color anymore from anywhere. That's sad really, because I love working with Rose mohair, it is so soft and bit fluffy and it is easy to work with my favorite size of crochet hook. And it looks good on dolly sized things. :)
Note to self: buy few balls if you find color of Rose mohair that you really like.

I managed to get the measurements needed for Dal sized hats from Finnish Pullip forums. (Thank you bang!) I'm looking forward to make a pile of funny hats for my first Dal. I'll make some before I get the doll so she will have something of her own when she comes. I need to buy brown yarn, my Dal needs a Domo-kun hat...
I'm almost sure now that my first Dal will be Coco. I'll change the stock eye chips for some prettier ones, but I want to stick with the blue color. I might order Ixtee chips from eBay, they have some rally pretty shades of blue. Also I'll get an Obitsu body for her, because I don't like those skrews showing on the back of Dal body.
I'll be able to order Coco from my next pay, so I'll place the order after 15th. :)
I have no idea yet what my Dal's name will be, but her character is quite clear!

I'll be out of town for the next week, we are going to spend some time at summer cottage! So I will be without internet connection. See you at 17th again!
I'll order Dal Coco then too when I come home, can't wait! :3

Leo got a new hat too! It is... a monster? o__o
